DJ Remixkid DCardinal started his music obsession by destroying his mother’s belt driven hi-fi turntable and continues his journey by stripping back as many limiting constraints on his sound sets as possible. The result, he is able to ‘move’ you well before the dance floor grabs your feet, and the bassline begins to suck your body in. As his name suggests he is a new world songbird, the D’Cardinal rule fundamentally embraces all forms of music.
DJ ‘Remixkid’ DCardinal also uses the alias Mike DCardinal. He is not just a DJ, he is not just a remix producer. His persona is one of a maniacal musical mad man, sitting at the helm of the club night, creatively caressing, careering and steering the event from the centre, with an effective guile of precision towards its ultimate, inevitable conclusion.
Also known for his remix projects as part of ‘Gods of Prophet’, at times both the commercial and experimental side can be exposed simultaneously. He has concocted remixes with East West, Elektra Records and Time Warner and other record companies for various well known artists including Ziggy Marley, Adina Howard as well as unreleased, unofficial exclusive remixes. His DJ sets often include remixes perpetrated with the view to makes his sets unique and uplifting for the crowd.
