As a DJ, remix creator and music producer I have used various applications to create, conceptualise and produce music and remixes over the years. Using programs such as Steinberg’s Cubase, Wavelab, Cakewalk Pro, Propeller Reason and others that illude me right now, these are the ones that readily come to mind and they have served me honourably. I did even have a stint with Logic until I sort of stumbled upon a new way of doing music. I think my first version Ableton was 7 and I have been hooked ever since slowly disregarding other programs that I used to use.
I find Ableton Live i’m now on version 9, is a versatille music production program and I find that it works really well for me doing house music, different types of EDM as well as urban music including reggaeton and hip-hop. I recently have been asked to composed a classical score for a computer game, and after buying some orchestral instruments it would seem that it is up to that as well. I did find that expanding the virtual instrument selection opens a whole new world of discovery. I don’t believe I have reached the full potential track limit yet but from reading up it would appear the day could come.
